In 1936 John Clubley was admitted to Gringley TB Hospital for Children. He remained for 3 years - fresh air, sunlight, good food and being set into splints or 'frames' was the only treatment at that time. He wrote a book called Lemon Curd and Grandfather's Whiskers which tells the story of his experience there. These books are available for purchase from the History Club, £5.
