Edith Mary Teasdale (Mrs Mary Newsham) was born on 17th May 1932 at North Carr Farm, Gringley on the Hill.  This farm now comprises the farm buildings nearest to the Bailey Bridge across the River Idle at the northern most boundary of the Parish of Gringley on the Hill.
